Last September, I had the pleasure of photographing the stunning wedding of Milina and Joel at Morden Hal l in London. Their wedding day was filled with unique personal touches, heartfelt moments, and the kind of details that make every wedding memorable. Milina and Joel, originally from the UK but now living in Denver, chose to come back to London for their wedding so they could celebrate with family and friends. It was a day that brought together loved ones from near and far, set against the elegance of the Morden Hall wedding venue.

Bride & Groom Prep at Morden Hall

One of the unique aspects of this wedding was the proximity of the bridal and groom prep areas within Morden Hall. With Milina and Joel getting ready across the hall from each other, I had the rare opportunity to capture moments from both the bride and groom’s preparations. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation. I could sense the joy they felt knowing they were just steps away from each other as they got ready.

Capturing these precious moments allowed me to tell a fuller story of their day. From the laughter shared between Joel and his groomsmen to the quiet, beautiful moments as Milina slipped into her dress, the day’s start was indeed nothing short of magical.

A Colourful Twist with a Floral-Embroidered Veil

Milina made a statement with her stunning floral-embroidered veil. A unique piece that added a burst of colour to her bridal look, because of the intricate embroidery in beautiful pastel colours. Her veil was a breath of fresh air and a true expression of her personality. It perfectly complemented her classic Alena Leena wedding dress, creating a look that was both modern and timeless.

As a photographer, it’s always a treat to capture details that stand out and reflect the bride’s individuality. Milina’s veil was certainly a highlight of the day!

A Stylish Hair Change for the Evening

Milina’s style evolution throughout the day was a wonderful sight to capture. For the ceremony and reception, she opted for a chic, classic look with her hair styled in a sleek bun. But as the evening unfolded Milina transformed her look, letting her hair down into a high ponytail. This playful change also mirrored the transition from formal elegance to the fun and carefree atmosphere of the evening celebration.

Bringing a Touch of the US to London

Living in Denver, Milina and Joel brought a few Western-inspired touches to their London celebration. Later in the evening, Milina swapped her bridal heels for a pair of sparkling cowgirl boots and donned a white cowgirl hat on the dance floor. She wasn’t alone in embracing the Western spirit either. Friends and family joined her with their own cowboy hats, creating a fun, lively vibe that added a unique flair to the festivities. It was a joyous nod to the life they’ve built together across the pond.

Milina and Joel entrusted Georgina Alexander Weddings to help plan and coordinate their special day, and it was a pleasure working with Georgina again (see our previous wedding together here). Having a skilled wedding planner made everything run smoothly, from keeping the day on schedule to ensuring every detail was perfectly executed.
