I’ve photographed at Botley Hill Barn and wanted to share a few of the features I think make it an awesome choice for your wedding day (and your wedding photos).
The Wedding Morning
The Barn at Botley Hill has a space for couples to get ready on the morning of the wedding. It’s a purpose built space, with well thought out features, like a space to hang the wedding dress, dresses, or suits). From a wedding photography perspective, having a nice big space with good light and space for the dress is helpful for photographing bridal preparations or grooms getting ready. The Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony space is in a beautiful old barn called ‘The Oakley Barn’. This space has lovely soft lighting, and will provide a timeless romantic backdrop for exchanging your wedding vows. This space looks truly beautiful with a bit of styling – decorated with flowers or adorned with candles. I love photographing this part of the day! Wedding photos of key moments of the ceremony will give you something to look back through for years to come.
Wedding Group Shot Locations
Every great wedding venue should have space for family group photos for both good weather, and also if it rains. If the weather is wet, the main barn has huge windows and lots of natural light, so your wedding photos can still have a gorgeous scenic backdrop, without everyone getting drenched. If the weather is dry, there are lots of options that will feature the scenic hillside backdrop, so you can look back and remember being surrounded by green Surrey countryside.
Wedding Portrait Photo Shoot Locations
Botley Hill Barn has quite a few options for couple portraits at weddings. If it’s a baking hot summer day, the huge tree just outside the main barn offers some shade and soft light away from the bright sun and harsh light, which is more flattering. You can also make use of the main barn frontage with that beautiful floor to ceiling glass window for more of an edgy look!
Evening Wedding Reception
The evening reception space is in the main hall, a great space to make your main entrance to the evening party! The space is really flexible, so there’s plenty of room for a live band and/or DJ. The cake would usually be cut at the start of the evening reception, before the party gets in full swing and everyone is too busy having fun on the dance floor and being the life of the party to think of posing.
Wedding Day Photography
