The Beacon Wedding Photography

If you’re looking for a garden wedding venue for your wedding day, where you can enjoy spending time with family and friends in an exclusive use space, I’d recommend checking out The Beacon, Kent.

I’ve photographed two lovely weddings at The Beacon before and wanted to share a few of the features I think make it a wonderful choice for your wedding day (and your wedding photos). As a Kent wedding photographer I work at a lot of venues, and The Beacon is probably my favourite. I mean, I did get married there myself!

The Wedding Morning

The Billiard Room is a wonderful space for you to prepare for your wedding. It gets a lot of natural light through the windows, particularly on very sunny days. This is super important – not just for photos, but for your hair and make-up team as well. It comes complete with a rail for hanging dresses/suits, plenty of seating and a large mirror for last minute checks before you head off to get married. I really loved that I could see and hear my guests starting to arrive from this room on my own wedding morning. It really adds to the excitement!

The Wedding Ceremony

There are two very different options for your wedding ceremony at The Beacon. Which would you choose?

The Dining Room

This is the indoor ceremony space at The Beacon. Squeeze up to 80 guests in here as a wet-weather option. Ideal for intimate weddings, particularly in the winter months!

The Amphitheatre

Hands down my favourite thing about this Kent wedding venue. A completely unique licensed ceremony space, I haven’t seen anything like this at any other venue I’ve been to before. I thought it actually gives off destination vibes, as I’ve seen similar at venues in Italy or Greece. Up to 140 guests can witness your nuptials here, and the tiered seating means every single person gets a great view.

The Beacon Wedding Photography Locations

Wedding Group Shot Locations

Every great venue should have space for family group photos for both good and bad weather. If the weather is wet the Amphitheatre canopy can offer some shelter whilst still having some natural light. Your wedding images can still have a gorgeous look without you and your wedding guests getting drenched! If it’s dry, there are lots of options that will feature the beautiful gardens. On a really sunny day you may still want to use the Amphitheatre for some much needed shade!

Couple Portrait Locations

The Beacon has quite a few options for couple portraits at weddings. The perfectly manicured lawn, and even the amphitheatre stage with those gorgeous views over the valley. Or, take a stroll through the sprawling grounds and have a few quiet moments as newlyweds in the midst of the wedding day rush. You’ll be glad you did – and you might even spot some deer!

The Grand Pavilion

Not just your usual wedding marquee. You can tell that the team at The Beacon have really thought about the look of every element, as the inside of half of the tent walls is beautifully decorated with a wildflower pattern. This looks so much better in photos than just plain marquee sides! The other half of the tent opens up at the sides, or if it’s a bit wet or chilly the ‘walls’ at this side are actually clear instead of white which allows you to still see outside, but being more protected from the elements. The Grand Pavilion tent is the perfect solution for those wanting to have their wedding meal outside, but still sheltered from the sun (or rain!).

Evening Wedding Reception

Evening receptions at The Beacon take place in the main house, in the restaurant. This is fantastic because the restaurant actually opens up onto a large terrace where you can still enjoy the gorgeous views. It’s great for summer weddings when people often want to be outside as long as possible! The dance floor area is directly next to the bar as well, which means you’re not losing guests when they go to get a drink. This is SO IMPORTANT when it comes to maintaining a good party vibe!

Wedding Day Photography in Kent

Looking for The Beacon wedding photography? I’d be excited to hear from you! I’m incredibly proud to say that I’m actually a recommended wedding supplier at The Beacon. If having a photographer who has experience with photographing at your venue is important to you, then this is a testament to mine.

My style of wedding photography is very natural and features warm tones, which goes beautifully with the various spaces at this venue. The focus is on documentary photos that will tell the story of your day, mixed with some fun and a few posed group and couple photos. Weddings that mix contemporary with tradition are my sweet spot. The Beacon in Kent is a wonderful location for couples that are looking for this concept.
