I’ve photographed four lovely weddings at Chapel House Estate and I’m pleased to say that they have made me one of their recommended suppliers! I wanted to share a few of the features I think make it a wonderful choice for your wedding day (and your wedding photos). As a Kent wedding photographer I work at a lot of venues, and Chapel House Estate is quickly becoming one of my favourites. Let me tell you why!

The Wedding Morning

From a wedding photography perspective, having a nice big space with good light is essential for morning preparations. Your hair and make-up team will appreciate this too! There are a couple of options for accommodation and getting ready at Chapel House Estate.

The Beauty Lodge

A wonderful space for you to prepare for your wedding. Sit back and relax in the salon-style chairs whilst you and your team get pampered. There’s even a massage room! Situated on the West Paddock, along with 9 other hideaway lodges where your guests can stay.

The Chapel House

A beautifully renovated 13th-century chapel provides a large space for even the biggest of wedding parties. Oh, we need to talk about the honeymoon suite. Not only does it feature a freestanding bath in the bedroom, but also has an ensuite bathroom – with another hidden door leading out onto a private balcony! Where else would you want to stay on your wedding night?

The Wedding Ceremony

There are two different options for your nuptials at Chapel House Estate. Which would you choose?

The Granary Barn

The indoor ceremony option at Chapel House Estate. Squeeze up to 150 guests in here (120 downstairs and a further 30 upstairs on the mezzanine floor). Previously a barley barn when the estate was a working farm, the Old Malt Granary Barn has been beautifully restored with many original features and exposed brick walls. Perfect for those looking for a rustic wedding look!

The Apple Orchard

Hold your celebrations in the gorgeous wild apple orchard, the outdoor ceremony option at Chapel House Estate. Space for 150 seated guests, yet still perfect for more intimate weddings too.

Wedding Group Shot Locations

Every great venue should have space for family group photos for both good and bad weather. If the weather is wet the Thorne Barn will have the most natural light. Your wedding images can still have a gorgeous look without you and your wedding guests getting drenched. If it’s dry, there are lots of options that will feature the beautiful gardens, the orchard or even the long winding driveway.

Couple Portrait Locations

Chapel House Estate has quite a few options for couple portraits at weddings. The perfectly manicured gardens (including the private garden of the Chapel House with its pond and palm trees) offer lots of backdrop beauty. Or, take a stroll through the wild apple orchard and have a few quiet moments as newlyweds in the midst of the wedding day rush. You’ll be glad you did!

Evening Wedding Reception

The Thorne Barn is the wedding breakfast and evening reception space at Chapel House Estate. Room for 150 seated for dinner, with an additional evening capacity of 50. A complete blank canvas, but fitted with a large bar, it’s everything a couple would need to host their wedding festivities. A short turnaround time between the wedding breakfast and first dance will give you a nice big dance floor to party the night away!

Wedding Day Photography in Kent
