Port Lympne Wedding Photography
If you’re looking for a unique wedding venue for your wedding day, where you can enjoy spending time with family and friends in an exclusive use space, I’d recommend checking out Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve, Kent.
I’ve photographed at Port Lympne Hotel before and wanted to share a few of the features I think make it a wonderful choice for your wedding day (and your wedding photos). As a Kent wedding photographer I work at a lot of venues, and Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve is one of the most special I’ve seen. Let me tell you why!
The Wedding Morning
With a variety of luxury lodges, suites, cabins and even treehouses, you really won’t find a wedding venue with more accommodation choice than Port Lympne Hotel. From a wedding photography perspective, having a nice big space with good light and somewhere for your wedding outfit to hang is helpful. Natural light will be loved by your hair and make-up team too. (Check out more of my Bridal Prep Photo Tips here!)
The Wedding Ceremony
There are several options for your nuptials at Port Lympne Hotel, including a brand new space built in 2022/23. It’s not an award winning wedding venue for nothing, you know!
Hold your celebrations in the gorgeous 20th-century Mansion which offers the use of both drawing rooms and terraces for your ceremony. Capacity up to 50 guests so ideal for slightly smaller weddings, the Mansion is surrounded by 17 acres of gardens!
That shiny new space I was telling you about. Tucked away in the walled garden, the Pergola is (in my opinion) the most beautiful choice of ceremony location to say ‘I do’ at Port Lympne. It wasn’t complete when I last visited, but I would love to photograph a wedding in this space!
The Moroccan Courtyard
For intimate wedding parties of up to 24 you have the Moroccan Courtyard. With its pastel-pink walls, original marble details and beautiful bougainvillea flowers (something I haven’t seen at any other UK venue), this space will really transport you overseas with a destination wedding feel.
Wedding Group Shot Locations
Every great venue should have space for family group photos for both good and bad weather. If the weather is wet the Orangery will have the most natural light. Your wedding images can still have a gorgeous look without you and your wedding guests getting drenched. If it’s dry, there are lots of options that will feature the sprawling gardens or beautiful architecture of the mansion. You’ll want to look back and remember being surrounded by nature and wildlife.
Port Lympne Wedding Photography Locations
Port Lympne Hotel has quite a few options for couple portraits at weddings. The walled garden, Moroccan Courtyard and even the interior of the Mansion would all make great backdrops for your images.
A Wild Experience
Private safari, anyone? Yes, you heard that right. Marry at Port Lympne and you’ll get the chance to tour the reserve with your guests and see all kinds of amazing animals on your way. The reserve is home to over 900 species of endangered animals, would you believe! Tell me, where else in the UK could you capture wedding couple portraits with giraffes for company?
Evening Wedding Reception
The largest evening reception space at Port Lympne Hotel is the newly-built Orangery. With seating capacity up to 120 alongside your dance floor, it’s an ideal choice for a seamless transition from wedding breakfast to first dance and all-night-party.
For more intimate weddings, dinner can be held in the Mansion’s drawing rooms.
Wedding Day Photography in Kent
Looking for a Port Lympne wedding photographer? I’d be excited to hear from you! My style of wedding photography is very natural and features warm tones, which goes beautifully with the various spaces at this venue. The focus is on documentary photos that will tell the story of your day, mixed with some fun and a few posed group and couple photos. Weddings that mix contemporary with tradition are my sweet spot. Port Lympne Hotel in Kent is a wonderful location for couples that are looking for this concept.
