Elegant Summer Wedding at Hotel du Vin

Nestled in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, Lauren and Nick’s wedding at Hotel du Vin was a radiant celebration of their love on a beautiful August day. As a Kent wedding photographer I have the privilege of witnessing many love stories. Their wedding was filled with warmth, lots of laughter, and heartfelt moments.

Hotel du Vin Weddings

The Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells is a Grade II-listed mansion, originally built in the 1700’s as a private residence and later transformed into a hotel with 34 bedrooms, a restaurant and bar, and several private-hire rooms. Part of the Hotel du Vin group’s collection of boutique hotels, this Georgian building stands pride of place as one of Tunbridge Wells’ architectural landmarks. I love the neutral and clean look of the reception room!

Reconnecting with Familiar Faces

One special aspect of Lauren and Nick’s wedding for me was reuniting with a familiar face – one of Lauren’s bridesmaids, a bride whose special day I captured a few years prior. It was so lovely to reconnect with a past wedding couple, because it’s something I don’t often get the chance to do!

Capturing Every Moment

From the early morning preparations to the tender exchange of vows, I had the honour of documenting every moment of Lauren and Nick’s journey. With both the bride and groom getting ready in rooms at the Hotel du Vin, I captured the excitement and anticipation of both partners as they readied themselves for the next chapter of their lives. I always take care to capture all the little details in the morning. You’ve chosen them for a reason after all! Also – how stunning did Lauren look?!

A Ceremony Bathed in Light

The indoor ceremony unfolded in the elegant “Lombard” room, its neutral tones and abundant natural light creating a serene atmosphere. Against this backdrop, Lauren and Nick professed their love, surrounded by the warmth and love of their closest family and friends. Further showcasing the incredible versatility of this venue, this same room was later turned into a reception room complete with elegant wedding breakfast setup.

Special Guests and Personal Touches

During the afternoon, the couple’s furry friend, Pep, made his appearance. Adding an extra dash of joy to the festivities, Pip’s presence was not only felt in person but also immortalised on their wedding cake. What a touching and funny tribute to their beloved companion! The simplicity of the wedding breakfast decor, featuring delicate bud vases and table names inspired by meaningful places, mirrored the couple’s refined taste and shared adventures.
