Greece Destination Wedding in Santorini with Caldera Views

Greece is undoubtedly one of my absolute favourite places in the world. So when Ellie & Jimmie asked me to capture their Greece destination wedding in Santorini, I was over the moon! If you ask me, there’s no island better for a destination wedding in Greece than Santorini. (I am open to having my mind changed though – so if you’re marrying on another Greek island get in touch!)

Nestled in the Aegean Sea, this Greek island paradise has become synonymous with destination weddings. With its breathtaking sunsets, stunning landscapes, and charming blue-domed churches, Santorini offers an idyllic backdrop for couples seeking a truly magical experience on their special day. So many beautiful wedding venues to choose from and most with incredible caldera views – like Santorini Gem, which was the setting for this couple’s special day.

Santorini Wedding Venue with Caldera Views

Santorini Gem is a luxury wedding venue in Greece, and certainly one of the most iconic in Santorini. A white wooden gazebo with billowing curtains on all four corners sits at the very edge of this clifftop wedding venue. Couples can exchange their vows 300 meters above the water with volcanoes, the island and Mediterranean sea as your backdrop as you say “I do”. Can you possibly think of anything more dreamy?!

Where to stay in Santorini?

My favourite area of Santorini to stay in is Kamari. It’s close to the airport and the beach, and has a great selection of restaurants and bars. It’s also not as busy as the main towns of Oia and Fira (and therefore not as expensive either!)

Ellie & Jimmie chose to stay off-site in a private villa complex with 25 of their family and friends, around a 10 minute drive from Kamari. However, Santorini Gem does have its own villa accommodation with pool – making it the perfect option for all of your wedding festivities.

Greece Destination Wedding Photography

Ellie & Jimmie’s big day marked my third time capturing a wedding on this beautiful island. (See my first ever Santorini wedding here!) I had the best time working with these guys to capture their wedding memories. I’m already looking forward to my next opportunity to photograph a destination wedding in Greece!

If you’re looking for a destination wedding photographer to capture your wedding celebrations in Santorini, Mykonos, Rhodes, Crete, Paros, or anywhere else in Greece for that matter – please get in touch and tell me all about your plans! Oh, and why not check out my blog post on the benefits of flying a destination wedding photographer out with you too?

“Wow wow wow. Thank you so so much for everything they are incredible!! Can’t wait to get ordering my favourites!!”
