Mount Ephraim Wedding with Home Wedding Reception

Last summer, I had the privilege of photographing Amy and Jordan’s beautiful wedding at Mount Ephraim in Kent. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and the perfect mix of elegance and countryside charm. So if you’re planning a wedding in Kent, this one is sure to inspire you!

Getting Ready at Mount Ephraim

Amy started her day in one of Mount Ephraim’s charming bedrooms. With the sound of rain tapping gently on the windows and surrounded by her bridal party, the space was filled with excitement as final touches were made to her hair and makeup. The light streaming through the windows made for some stunning bridal portraits.

Jordan and his groomsmen arrived later, greeting guests and ensuring everything was set for the ceremony. The atmosphere was buzzing as friends and family gathered. Although their dreams of an outdoor ceremony in the gardens were dashed due to the rain, Amy and Jordan took it all in stride. They made a last-minute decision to move the ceremony indoors, which turned out to be absolutely breathtaking.

A Grand Ceremony Indoors

The ceremony was relocated to the grand hall, where the magnificent staircase became the backdrop for their vows. The ornate details of the staircase, combined with the soft glow from the skylight, created an intimate and romantic setting. So beautiful!

As Amy descended the staircase, all eyes were on her, and Jordan’s face lit up with emotion. Capturing that moment—along with their heartfelt vows and the joyous applause of their guests—was truly special. Sometimes, unexpected changes lead to the most memorable moments, and this was certainly one of them. A blessing in disguise, you might say!

Sunshine and Garden Portraits

As if on cue, the rain stopped just as the ceremony came to a close. The newlyweds exited to cheers as the sun broke through the clouds, which gave us the perfect opportunity to head outside for some couple portraits in Mount Ephraim’s spectacular gardens. The gorgeous grounds would get some use after all!

Bursting with vibrant summer blooms, the gardens made for an incredible setting. Amy and Jordan strolled hand in hand, soaking up the sun. The natural beauty of the venue, combined with the couple’s joy at the turn of the weather, made these portraits some of my favourite photos from the day.

A Countryside Reception in the Orchard

After the ceremony guests made their way to Amy’s parents’ home nearby, where their orchard had been transformed into a stunning reception space. A marquee decked out with beautiful rustic decor provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of celebrations.

A relaxed setting allows for beautiful candid moments, such as children playing amongst the trees and guests enjoying heartfelt speeches. Amy & Jordan chose paella and ice-cream for the evening’s catering. Perfect for the relaxed vibe, rather than a formal sit-down meal! One highlight of the reception was the amazing band, GrooveZoo. They brought so much energy to the evening, getting everyone on their feet and filling the marquee with incredible music. If you’re looking for a band for your wedding, I highly recommend them!
