Winter Wedding at The Night Yard

Who says you have to get married in the summer to have a beautiful golden hour? Not the case for Erin & Phil, who got hitched in November. The pair had a church ceremony, followed by their wedding at The Night Yard in Kent. Not only did they experience a dry and sunny day, but they also witnessed the most magical of winter sunsets!

Why marry in the winter? Winter weddings are actually becoming a lot more popular in recent years. Venue and supplier availability contribute to this, but couples can also make significant savings on venue costs. Winter wedding inspiration incoming!

An Iconic Glasshouse

The standout feature of The Night Yard is the stunning glasshouse located in the heart of the venue. Erin & Phil chose to have their wedding at a local church, so upon our arrival we found the glasshouse all set up for their wedding breakfast. However, for those looking to have their wedding day at one location the glasshouse is also a great indoor ceremony option!

The glasshouse can transform seamlessly from day to night. As natural light fills the room during the day, warm festoon lighting and dimmable chandeliers beautifully illuminate the space once the sun sets. This creates the perfect atmosphere for your wedding evening (and party!)

Dog Friendly Wedding at The Night Yard

Erin & Phil’s beautiful dog Luna was in attendance for the day, which I loved. As a dog owner myself I know how they are part of the family, so it’s great when venues allow you to have them there for your special day as well. Generally couples choose to have someone take their dog home after the ceremony, but Luna stayed well into the evening celebrations. More dogs at weddings please!

Location, Location, Location

Located in the heart of the Kent Countryside just outside of Canterbury, The Night Yard wedding venue nestles amidst miles of fields and apple orchards. This picturesque setting provides an abundance of stunning backdrops for capturing your couple portraits. A photographer’s dream!

You’d be forgiven for driving past and not even knowing it was there. The Night Yard is pretty well hidden away from the noise and traffic of main roads. This allows you and your guests to really enjoy your wedding day in your own little bubble, without thoughts of the outside world!
