Luxe White Wedding at The Orangery Maidstone

A hidden gem in the centre of Maidstone, The Orangery wedding venue is tucked away just outside the town centre – you would never know its 9 acres of beautiful gardens (and private lake!) are there. Being only 15 minutes from my home, I must say I absolutely love shooting here! If you’re planning your wedding and want gorgeous photos to remember it for a lifetime, you definitely need to see James & Vanessa’s day. Talk about inspiration!

Thoughtful Preparation Suite

The newly renovated Wisteria Suite is the getting ready area for weddings at The Orangery. With lots of natural light, neutral blush walls and multiple mirrors, it’s clear the team here have put lots of thought into not just how this room functions on the day, but how it will look in your morning prep photos too. My favourite part of this room, however, has to be the gorgeous statement arch – the perfect spot to hang your wedding outfit!

White Wedding Trends

The ivory suit jacket James sported on his wedding day was the perfect look for their white wedding theme. This is definitely something I’m starting to see more of too, so take note of this ultra-luxe trend!

Silk Floral Details

In keeping with their vision for the day, James & Vanessa opted for white silk flowers for their ceremony arch and pillars. A great way to keep the budget down whilst still getting that floral arch of dreams! The great thing about this was that it was easy enough to move to the wedding breakfast area after the ceremony, meaning the couple could absolutely make the most of it in their decor. Not to mention, silk flowers don’t wilt – so it looked perfect until the end of the night!

Indoor Ceremony in The Garden Room

There are three ceremony locations to choose from at The Orangery Maidstone. Two outdoor spots, with their indoor option being The Garden Room, which is what James & Vanessa opted for. This is a beautiful room that fills with light, even on a cloudy day (which this wasn’t!) making it any photographer’s dream.

Photo Opportunities at The Orangery Maidstone

With its own private lake, stunning waterfall and almost endless gardens, you really are spoilt for choice when it comes to photo locations at this Kent wedding venue. With James himself being a photographer I knew he would understand the importance of these portraits – we had so much time on the day to wander around the venue utilising as many of the spaces as we could.

Wedding Breakfast in The Orangery

The neutral tones continuing throughout this venue, paired with the abundance of natural light in every space, you really can’t ask for more as a photographer. J&V were speechless as they viewed their wedding breakfast setup for the first time in real life after their ceremony – we even stopped to take a few portraits in here! I particularly loved that the couple had chosen to have a sweetheart table rather than the “traditional” top table. This meant they could sit together and enjoy watching their family & friends and take it all in, in a way that you often may not get the chance to on your wedding day.

Personalised Details

A small detail with a big effect – personalising your wedding guest book. Most couples will opt to have some sort of guest book to collect well-wishes from family & friends. J&V went a step further to make this special by including some of the photos from their engagement shoot with me. Much better than a blank book, right?
