Although I’m based in Kent I do tend to get a lot of enquiries for London Weddings, and this lovely day in June was Amy & Andrei’s turn with their Hurlingham Club wedding. Originally from London but now living in Canada, Amy & Andrei returned to their former home to host their special day with all their family and friends around.
An unusual occurrence for me was that I actually got the chance to photograph Groom Prep as well as Bridal Prep! This quite often isn’t possible because of timings clash, or bride and groom getting ready at locations far from each other meaning I use a second shooter instead – not the case today! Only a short drive separated the two houses so I was able to capture both myself. I absolutely loved Amy’s dress which she’d found at a little boutique shop in Canada; stunning lace detail and a gorgeous back!
The wedding ceremony was held at Chelsea Old Church, which – unlike its name suggests – is the most beautiful, modern-looking church I have had the pleasure to photograph in. The church actually dates back to the 1300s but has been rebuilt several times since. At the end of proceedings, two friends of the couple (who happened to be amazing opera singers) treated the guests to a rendition of The Flower Duet – made more famous in recent times by the British Airways advert. A stunning end to the ceremony!
The reception took place at The Hurlingham Club in Fulham. With 42 acres, we certainly weren’t struggling for photo backdrops! I loved roaming around with these two after dinner, finding hidden spots to explore. Here are some of my favourites from this Hurlingham Club wedding!
