2020 has been a long year hasn’t it?! Creatively it’s been a real challenge for me and I’m sure many other photographers. Weddings were cancelled, and we couldn’t meet up with friends and family – much less couples for shoots. A couple of months in and I was dying to get out and photograph something!
Learning From the Best
So I was super excited when Rebecca Carpenter announced that she would be hosting a couples workshop at one of my favourite locations in Kent. Limited to a very small group in compliance with the Government guidelines at the time, I was lucky enough to bag myself a spot. This woman is so incredibly talented and I’ve really loved her work for so long, so it was fantastic to finally get to meet, learn from and work with her.
Beach Couple Shoot at Botany Bay in Kent
Rebecca had organised two lovely real couples for our shoot, and we arrived at Botany Bay in the early evening just as it was getting quiet and the sun was slowly starting to set. We witnessed the most beautiful golden hour and carried on shooting right up until it was almost dark. Both Jordan & Tom and Laura & Jordan were couple goals!
I had SUCH a fantastic time and learnt so much, including shooting in direct sunlight which I would usually avoid at all costs! I would absolutely recommend Rebecca’s workshop to any photographer looking to up their game, I feel like my work has suddenly shifted into a whole new level. So pleased to finally blog this shoot and share it with you all – here are some of my favourite images!
