Well, what can I say about this Hayne House wedding? Linda & Fred’s colourful African-fusion day certainly was AWESOME. These guys were amazing – I couldn’t wait to work with them again following their Portobello Road engagement shoot earlier this year. Their day was jam packed with colour, quirkiness and fun. I LOVED it!

Natural Light Wedding Venue in Kent
For starters, their venue choice was spectacular. Hayne House in Hythe hosted the entire day, with use of their gorgeous gardens and brand new Orangery. It was undoubtedly a perfect summer venue, as even inside there was ample light (great for me!) and the ability to open up virtually the whole of one side meant that everyone kept cool too. Not only this but an outdoor ceremony (which I just love!) and plenty of garden space for some drinks and afternoon entertainment.

African Influences on the Wedding Day
With Linda’s family being from Ghana, it was fantastic that she was able to incorporate so much of this into her wedding style. Not only were the table runners made from traditional patterned fabric but Linda herself even changed into an amazing yellow and blue African two-piece outfit in the evening. It had been handmade by her mum and finished that very morning! And get this – it matched her cake!! Yes that’s right, the bottom tier of the cake was the exact same colours and pattern as Linda’s evening outfit fabric. How about that for well thought through!

Fun Wedding Activities
Linda and Fred managed to incorporate so much fun into their day, which I loved. This included a hilariously tense game of Mr & Mrs, and a cool alternative to the traditional bouquet toss; a Moet toss for the girls and Whisky toss for the boys! (Don’t worry, the bottles had been temporarily removed from their box before it was thrown into the crowd!) I absolutely love this idea as an alternative for those Brides who don’t want to throw their bouquets – and for the boys to get in on it as well!
