I received the enquiry for this Dulwich College wedding through a competition I ran on a popular wedding blog. Although this particular wedding didn’t end up winning my competition, I was extremely happy when I got the email that they wanted to book anyway! These two had been together for some time already – they even have two beautiful children together. So when Victoria and Rob decided to finally tie the knot, they wanted to get it right. And boy did they!
I started off the morning with Victoria at her parents’ house to photograph her getting ready. This also included Vic’s mum, sister, and several young children; yet the process was not as hectic as you might think! I really loved Victoria’s 1950’s inspired style, her shorter dress and fun hairpiece with a hint of Rockabilly. And those Vivienne Westwood heels… AMAZING!
We then headed to Dulwich College for the ceremony, which was held in the Old Library. The ceremony included a reading of the short story “A Lovely Love Story” by Edward Monkton. A beautiful story with a funny twist, as it is about two dinosaurs. “I like this Dinosaur thought the Lovely Other Dinosaur. Although he is fierce he is also tender and he is funny. He is also quite clever though I will not tell him this for now.”
The rest of the evening was spent at The Rosedale. A fantastically modern yet cosy pub, with a garden area that included table tennis and a football table to keep the kids entertained while the adults enjoyed their drinks! (And a Bride/Groom mini-tournament later on in the evening!) The rooms were so wonderfully decorated too, with brightly coloured bunting draping across the ceiling. And wow, that cake! Made by the very talented Sophie at Milly and Grace Cakes, this beauty caught everybody’s eye as they entered the room. With it’s colourful macarons, flamingos, and beautiful edible flowers it was unlike any other cake I’ve seen!
